A new schooner, named the THOMAS PARSONS, was launched on Tuesday last (8/18) at Charlotte. Her dimensions are as follows, viz: Keel 143 ft.; hold 14 1/2 ft.; tonnage 350 tons; carrying capacity 23,000 bu. She was built by Capt. Hardison for Capt. Hosea Rogers. She is to be commanded by Capt. Wm. Harry. Mr. Parsons presented the suit of colors for the vessel. Capt. Dorr of Buffalo, presented a beautiful silver pitcher to Capt. Rogers for the new craft. The PARSONS will sail Saturday for Chicago.
