The new brig PREBLE now lying at the wharf of Joy & Webster is one of the prettiest looking craft that ever graced our harbor, and is Buffalo built. Her commander, Capt. Rickords, must gain for her good repute by outsailing his numerous competitors. her rig and model indicate that she can do it.

We clip the following from yesterday's Buffalo Commercial: Mr. Treat, of Euclid, has now on the stocks for Mr. Richard G. Winslow, a fore and aft schooner which it is the intention of Mr. W. to call the GENERAL TAYLOR. The figure head will represent the old hero, and on the stern will be a painting descriptive of the battle of Buena Vista. She will be about 250 tons burthen, and will have painted port holes similar to the brig PREBLE. She will be launched in a couple of weeks.
