A NEW STEAMER. -- Messrs. Bidwell & Banta have just laid the keel of a new and splendid steamer for the Michigan Southern Railroad Line, to be completed by the 1st. of June next. She is to be 325 feet long, 40 feet beam and 14 feet hold, and is to receive the engine of the steamer EMPIRE STATE. She is to be constructed under the supervision of Capt. Charles Forbes, and will with the NORTHERN INDIANA and SOUTHERN MICHIGAN, form the company's line between this city and Toledo. The Company have been alike sensible in selecting Buffalo as the place for building their new vessel, in enjoying Bidwell & Banta as the builders, and in securing the supervision of Capt. Forbes.
