Maritime History of the Great Lakes

John Sherman (Cutter), 2 Apr 1874

Description
Full Text

The ex-revenue cutter GENERAL SHERMAN is lying near the foot of Wayne Street having just got rid of her painters and as yet being under repairs to her machinery.. She is now called the JOHN SHERMAN, as has been noticed, and the change from a sombre black to a clean white, trimmed with green, is so marked that one can hardly believe her the same vessel.
