VESSEL FROM NORWAY ARRIVES AT CHICAGO. - On Saturday last the Norwegian brig SLEIPNER, Capt. Waage, arrived at Chicago with passengers and cargo. She left Bergen, Norway, on the 23d of May, with 150 passengers and 200 barrels of herring, consigned to Swana & Synestvedi, 115 Kenzie Street. The vessel arrived at Quebec on the 6th. July, where she remained until the 10th. She then started for the lakes, and arrived at Montreal on the 11th.; passed through the Welland Canal on the 21st, and reached Detroit on the 25th. There she left forty passengers, and started for Lake Michigan, arriving at Chicago Saturday evening as above indicated. The health of the passengers during the voyage was excellent. Not a death occurred on the passage, and no sickness. Soon after reaching Lake Erie a child was born to one of the passengers. The arrival of the brig having been signalled, ten thousand people lined the wharves of Chicago to witness her approach to the dock. A band of music and a salvo of cannon saluted the somewhat astonished Scandinavians, who were welcomed by Dr. Paoli; in a long speech. The emigrants go into Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota.

The Detroit Free Press says the Norwegian brig SLEIPNER, Captain Waage, arrived down yesterday afternoon en route for Bergen, Norway, with a cargo consisting of wheat, rye, and kerosene oil, but how much of each commodity we did not learn, as we failed to get an interview with her captain. She took her departure from here last evening in tow of the tug PRINDIVILLE, and ere this is on her way through Lake Erie for the canal. We learn Captain Waage expressed himself as highly pleased with the result of his trip thus far and his intention of coming out another season with a new and larger vessel and better adapted to the trade.
