The stm. TAMPA, built by F.W. Wheeler & Co. at Bay City, for David Whitney Jr., of Detroit, was launched last evening. She is 310 ft. over all, 41 ft. beam and 23 ft. hold. She will carry 100,000 bushels of corn, or 2,000 tons of ore, and will cost when fitted out, about $125,000.
