Transit (Steamboat), 25 Feb 1854
- Full Text
We made a cursory inspection yesterday of the new ferry boat for the Central and Great Western Railroads. It is, we understand, to be called the TRANSIT. It is rapidly approaching completion, and will soon be in readiness for running. The finishing off is being executed in very handsome style. The dining saloon, which is capcious, is painted white, and ornamented with gilt; and presents a very fine appearance. The wash-rooms are furnished with marble bowls, looking glasses, &c., In fact all of the arrangements of the boat are of a perfect character; and will be a credit to our city.
