. THE MILWAUKEE FLEET
The first vessel was launched at MIlwaukee in 1837, by Solomon Juneau, built by Capt. Barber. She was called the SOLOMON JUNEAU, of 90 tons; since which our commercial marine has been gradually on the increase, as will be seen from the folowing list:

Schr. JESSE SMITH 150 tons David Merrill.
Schr. LESTER H. ROCKWELL 120 tons C. Shepardson.
Schr. BALTIMORE 120 tons L.H. Cotton.
Schr. ELIZABETH HENDERSON 110 tons Henderson & Rudiman.
Schr. ELIZA WARD 90 tons Leavenworth & others.

All these vessels are engaged directly in the trade of this city. In addition to the business transacted by this formidable fleet, (for a wilderness city,) all large class steamboats touch here weekly, on their upward and downward trips. - Milwaukee Sentinel.
