The new stm. D.R. VAN ALLEN which has just been completed at Chatham, has set out on her first voyage for Montreal, with the following cargo. From Chatham, 50,000 ft. of hardwood lumber for Oshawa; 12,000 bu. of wheat from Toledo for Montreal, besides a large quantity of wool for Toronto. It is stated that she can go through the entire distance to Montreal with a full cargo, without lightering in the canals. She is commanded by Capt. Simpson.
