NEW VESSELS - LAUNCH. - Last week the new schooner DAYTON, belonging to Messrs. Richard Sears & Co. of this city, came up the Niagara river from White-Haven, entered our harbor, took on board a cargo and proceeded on her voyage to Lower Sandusky. She is of 85 tons burthen, with a slip keel, very burdensome, and calculated for the trade of the small harbors of our Lakes, drawing only about 5 1/2 feet of water when loaded. She was built at White-Haven, under the superintendence of Mr. Benjamin F. Delano, of Boston, who has there established the ship-building business.
On Saturday last, was also launched at the same place, from Mr. Delano's ship yard the fine schooner WABASH of 1[?] tons burden, intended for the Lake trade, belonging to Mr. Augustine Eaton, of this city. She is of the same model, excepting the slip keel, as the DAYTON. This is the third vessel launched from the White-Haven ship-yard this season, and we understand the keel of two or three more schooners will soon be laid, to be finished for the openin of the Lake navigation next spring.
