A handsome new schooner having the name WAVE CREST, laden with salt, arrived in this yesterday for the first time. The new vessel was constructed at Kingston, during the fall of 1866 and last winter, and was launched and placed in commission last spring. She is the property of Messrs. Gurney, Gidden & Co., of Kingston, and is commanded by Capt. Porter --------. Her entire cost has been $12,000 in gold. The following figures show her dimensions; length 120 ft., breadth of beam 24, depth of hold 8 ft., measurement 18? tons capacity for wheat 12,000 bushels. - Chicago Tribune
