Capt. Goldsmith left this city for Monroe this morning for the puropse of bringing here the stm. WESTERN METROPOLIS. This once splendid vessel is to be dismantled, her furniture sold at auction, and the hull converted into a bark. The CITY of BUFFALO, not the town, but the steamer, will be subjected to the same fate in a short time.

THE STEAMERS. - We are authorized by Wm. Williams, Esq., to say that the steamers CITY OF BUFFALO and WESTERN METROPOLIS have been sold to parties in New York, who have taken possession of them; and that they are in no condition to make an excursion, without a large expenditure of money.
