NAME SHIP FOR DETROIT MAN.
The steamship building for the Franklin Steamship Company, and which will be launched some time next month, will be named the EMORY L. FORD, in honor of Emory L. Ford of Detroit, who is connected with the Michigan Alkali Company. The FORD is being built at Lorain and is a 12,000 ton ship.

The new steamery EMORY L. FORD which was launched last Saturday at the Lorain yard of the American Steramship Co., is 600 feet overall, sixty foot beam, and thirty-two feet deep. She will be brought out by Capt. C. Sullivan.
