NEW STEAMER FOR WESTERN WATERS. - We learn that one of our citizens has purchased the screw steamer CONGRESS, formerly belonging to the U. S. Navy as a transport. She left new York a week ago, and will probably arrive here about the 20th. inst. She is to be placed in the general trade on the lakes. - Detroit Tribune.

PROPELLER CONGRESS. - At noon yesterday the three masted propeller CONGRESS arrived here, via the River St. Lawrence, from New York. She will be engaged in the lake trade, to and from Detroit and this port, we believe. She is copper-bottomed, was built at one of our lake ports, and has been running between New York and Charleston. The novelty of her appearance attracted much attention. This is the vessel that was detained at Montreal as a Fenian war vessel.
