The Peshtigo Co.'s barge IOWA, made her first appearance in our harbor yesterday, in tow of the tug ADMIRAL D.D. PORTER, laden with 700,000 ft. lumber from the company's mills at Peshtigo, Wis. The IOWA was reconstructed during the past spring at a cost of $15,000, and will be employed hereafter in freighting lumber between the latter city and Chicago. Her dimensions are as follows: Length over all, 239 ft. 9 inches; breadth of beam, 36 ft. 6 inches; depth of hold, 12 ft.; and measures 1,124 tons new style. - Chi. Trib.
