Promptly at 3:00 Saturday afternoon (5/8) C;ark's new sidewheel boat slid off the ways into the river in the presence of fully 400 persons. She is called the PEARL, and is intended for the Put-In-Bay Island trade. She was built under the supervision of John Drackett, of Cleveland, and is a model and build reflecting credit on the builder. The engine, 46 inches, 9 ft. stroke, was built by Fletcher, Harrison & Co., and the boiler is 22 ft. long, 11 ft. 6 inches shell, was built at Buchanan's shop. it is expected that the PEARL will draw about 6 ft. of water after her machinery and fuel is aboard. - Detroit Free Press.
