Description
Full Text

Messrs. Van Slyke, Notter & Co., launched last evening at thier yard, Erie Basin, the new prop. MINERAL ROCK, built for Sheldon McKnight. She went off in good style, and was witnessed by quite an assemblage. Her dimensions are 170 ft. keel, 27 ft. beam, 11 1/2 ft. hold; will register something over 500 tons. She draws 6 1/2 ft. aft and 4 ft. forward with her machinery in, and leaks scarcely a drop. She is a good looking and strongly built propeller. The MINERAL ROCK will be under the command of Capt. Frazer, last year mate of the stm. ILLINOIS, and will go into the Lake Superior trade between Cleveland and Ontanagon.
