A fore-and-aft schooner, built at the ship yard of Mr. F.N. Jones, for N.C. Winslow & Co., was launched Saturday afternoon. She is built with reference to passing through the Welland Canal, and her carrying capacity is about 21,000 bushels.
Mr. Jones has sold his ship-yard and dry docks in this city, to Messrs. Mills & Walsh, for, we understand about $60,000, and has established himself in Tonawanda. His first "job" there will be to build for Messrs. Bennett & Allen a vessel of 900 tons, old measurement. She will be 205 feet keel, 36 feet beam, 13 feet 6 ionches depth of hold, and will cost about $65,000.
