The stm. LOTTA BERNARD made her maiden trip at Sandusky on the 9th. She is pronounced to be a perfect model for her trade, in shoal water, and built very strong. She goes into the wood trade for the Northern Transportation Co. Her dimensions are: Length, 125 ft.; breadth of beam, 24 ft.; extreme breadth over all, 37 ft.; depth of hold 6 1/2 ft.; measures 148 tons, new measurement, or about 190 old measurement. her wheels are 19 ft. in diameter, with 4 1/2 ft. buckets.
