Chicago, Sept. 18 - The stm. CLEVELAND, was sold at marshal's sale here yesterday to J.A. Calbick for $700. The CLEVELAND has been here about a month. In Inland Lloyds this year the vessel is given a valuation of $7,500, with H. Runnels of Port Huron as managing owner. She was built in 1860. Capt. Calbick bought her for creditors.

      OLD TIMER REFUSED A CERTIFICATE.
Charles H. Westcott, supervising inspector of the eighth district, will go to Chicago this morning, as he was informed last night that the propeller CLEVELAND had been refused a certificate there. The CLEVELAND was built at Cleveland in 1860 and is rated B1 plus. She is owned by William Mueller, of Chicago.

The old steamer CLEVELAND which was condemned by the steamboat inspectors at Chicago was sold on Thurasday to Capt. James Sanford of the steamer JOHN OTIS. The old boat will be taken to Muskegon where the machinery will be removed. She will be converted into a barge.

Steam screw CLEVELAND. U. S. No. 4376. Built Cleveland, Ohio, 1860. Of 335 tons gross. 135.0 x 25.9 x 11.6. Burnt 1880 and rebuilt 1881. Dismantled 1900 and hull made into a barge which was towed by the steamer STEPHENSON which had the engines from the old CLEVELAND.
