The Chicago Tribune of Saturday says: The stm. METROPOLIS having failed to obtain the necessary licensce from the local inspectors to enable her to continue on the route between this port and South Haven and to carry excursionists on the lake, quietly slipped out of port Saturday midnight and went down the lake to trturn no more, at least for this season. The inspector did not condsider the her staunch enough for lake passage in stormy weather, and so refused to renew her papers. Capt. Benham an engineer and a fireman, and a tug captain took passage on the boat, which will probably run on the Detroit River or return to port of hail, Ashtabula.
