Description
Full Text

The screw steamer SIR HENRY BESSEMER will leave the Globe Yard, where she is building, the latter part of the week. Work is being rushed on her sister ship, the SIR WILLIAM SIEMENS, and the latter will be launched on July 15 or before. The strike at the Globe Yard just after the launching of the BESSEMER retarded work somewhat.
The gross tonnage of the BESSEMER is 4,321 tons, and the Bessemer Steamship Company expects to advertise itself and incidentally the builders when she gets into commission. The vessel is a duplicate of the CORALIA, controlled by M.A. Hanna & Co., which holds the cargo record. The BESSEMER is constructed of lighter material and will be able to load a few hundred more tons on the same draft.
