Sandusky. Apri1 22. --The COMMERCE. This is the name of a beautiful little steamboat of about 80 tons, built by Captain Daniel Dibble, and launched in handsome style, without accident, on Thursday last, from the shipyard at the upper end of the tow. It is intended for the navigation of Sandusky bay and river: is owned by a company of gentlemen residing at this place and Lower Sandusky, and is to be commanded by Capt. Wells, an experienced sailor, and master of the late steamboat MAJOR JACK DOWNING, which has been metamorphosed into a wood boat. It is expected that the COMMERCE will commence her daily trips between this place and Lower Sandusky, about the IOth. of May. It is peculiarly gratifying to those who remember the time when the horse-boat PEGASTIS formed the principal means of intercourse by water between these two places, to contrast the commercial facilities which this boat will furnish, with those then.
