NEW BRIG. -- The new brig MARY, Capt. Wm. Moore, came in from Chicago for the first time yesterday morning. She is of the largest class, and one of the most beautiful sail craft upon the lakes.
Another new vessel has made her appearance in our harbor, called the NORMAN. She was built at Sacket's Harbor for Messrs. H. Fitzhugh & Co. of this city, and is one of the largest sail vessels upon Lake Ontario. She has three masts, 132 feet keel, extreme length on deck 131 feet, 26 feet beam and 10 feet 6 inches hold, and by carpenter measurement, is 400 tons burthen. The NORMAN is loading for the upper lakes and will nearly fill the locks on her passage through the Welland Canal. -- Oswego Times.
