The new Western Transit Company's steel steamer SUPERIOR will be launched Saturday at the Ecorse Yards of the Great Lakes Engineering Company, Capt. Donald Gillies, formerly of the steamer TROY, will have command of the new vessel. The SUPERIOR is a duplicate of the BUFFALO of the same line. As soon as the SUPERIOR's berth is vacant, the keel of a new Anchor Line liner will be laid. This steamer will be the sister ship of the MUNCY.

New Steamer SUPERIOR on Maiden Trip.
The new steamer SUPERIOR of the Western Transit Company arrived here yesterday with grain and merchandise from Duluth. She is the latest new boat for the New York Central connection and was built at Detroit by the Great Lakes Engineering Company. This makes the eighth modern steel steamer which the Western Transit Company has added to its fleet since 1898. Capt Donald Gillies, formerly in the ROME, is master of the SUPERIOR.
