TRIPPE - Sloop - 60 tons - 35 crew - 1 long 24" - broadside, 24 lbs. In 1803, Porter, Barton & Co. of Black Rock, built a sloop named the CONTRACTOR, commanded by Captain William Lee. She was sold to the government in 1812, renamed the TRIPPE, and was a part of Commodore Perry's squadron, under the command of Lieutenant Thomas Holdup. Burned at Buffalo by the British, December 1813.
