The Detroit Locomotive Works are just now finishing a new boiler for the steam barge YOSEMITE. It is seven-sixteenths of an inch in thickness, of Otis steel, 14 feet long and 8 feet diameter of shell, and will stand a tension strain of 70,000 pounds. It has two large main flues, and 85 or 90 four-inch return tubes. The barge is now at Sandusky, and will come here as soon as she can get through, and when she arrives the boiler will be put in.
