The propeller AUGUSTUS B. WOLVIN will be launched at the Lorain ship yards the latter part of this month and extensive preparations are being made for the occasion. With a length of 500 feet the WOLVIN is the largest boat ever built on the lakes. She will be ready for navigation this spring, and will carry iron ore.

The giant steamer AUGUSTUS B. WOLVIN will be launched at the yards of the American Shipbuilding at Lorain on April 9. There will be a great celebration in that city in honor of the event.

The Chamber of Commerce of Lorain, Ohio, has sent out invitations for the launching of the AGUSTUS B. WOLVIN, the largest exclusive freight vessel in the world, at the yards of the American Shipbuilding Company at that port on Saturday April 9. The WOLVIN is 560 feet long, contains 4500 tons of steel, exclusive of machinery, and more than 750.000 rivets were used in building the boat. She will carry about 11,000 tons of ore and 300 tons of fuel on 18 feet draught. This is equal to 333 car loads or 11 train loads. She will load through 33 hatches and can be unloaded in six hours. When completed the WOLVIN will have cost $480,000.
