A BIG BOAT OF HER DAY.
The steamer SAMOA, which has been sold by the United States Marshal at Detroit, was well known in Buffalo. The vessel was launched by the Detroit Drydock Company for William Livingstone, being known as the T. W. PALMER. She was regarded as one of the largest vessels on the lakes and on her first trip to Buffalo brought 50,000 bushels of wheat. When the second steamer PALMER was built the old PALMER was purchased by Buffalo parties with the stipulation that the name be changed.
