The schooner SOREL has been on the railway all the winter, and has been rebuilt, and is now ready to be launched; she will take a cargo of railroad iron as far as Cleveland, and from thence proceed to Lake Huron, for a return freight of copper. The schooner PRINCE OF WALES has also wintered on this railway, getting thoroughly repaired. There are 25 ship-carpenters employed at present in this ship-yard.
The Constitutional , of St. Catharines, states that on the 2d inst., Mr. Shickluna launched a fine new schooner, the ST. ANDREW, built for Messrs. Norris and Nealon, 115 feet keel, 24 feet beam, and 10 feet hold, and is one of the best models of naval architecture. The Journal says:
We understand that two other vessels are on the stocks and will soon be in a condition to take their names and stations in the element for which they are designed.
