The Detroit Post & Tribune says: Captain Henry G. Blanchard, of this city, has purchased the iron steamship ELLEN S. PERRY from the Clyde Steamship Company for $15,000. The PERRY is now at New York, but will be brought here by way of the Welland Canal as soon as possible. She will be used in towing Captain Blanchard's lumber barges.
