It has been announced that the new steamer JOHN B. COWLES building for the United States Transportation Company will be launched at the Lorain yards Feb. 26.

TWO BIG FREIGHTERS SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCHED.
The new steamer JOHN B. COWLE of the Standard Transportation Company was launched successfully at Lorain on Saturday, and will be ready for service early in the season. She is a 9,000 ton ship, 545 feet long, with 58 feet beam and 31 feet deep. Capt. Ralph J. Lyons of Lorain will be in command. The steamer HARRY YATES, named for Harry Yates of Buffalo, was launched about the same time at Detroit. Miss Virginia A. Yates of Buffalo, acted as sponsor. The YATES, which is 524 feet over all and capable of carrying 9,500 tons, will be managed by Boland & Cornelius.
