The steam barge MACKINAW has been converted from a side-wheeler into a screw boat.

      Paddle wheel steamer MACKINAW. U. S. No. 90135. Of 141 tons gross. Built Detroit, Mich. 1866. First home port, Detroit, Mich. Rig changed to screw in 1877. DISPOSITION:-- Burnt Oct. 28,1890 at Black River Point, Mich.. No lives lost.
