An Old Relic. - One of the dredges at work in the harbor, recently brought up an immense
iron cylinder which is said to have belonged to the steamer UNITED STATES which used to run on Lake Ontario. It is about ten feet in length, four feet in diameter, and weights about four tons. It was found in one of the ships at the west side of the harbor, near the Rolling Mill. The UNITED STATES, as the old inhabitants of the city will recollect, used to run between Lewiston and Ogdensburg, touching at this port once a week. We believe she was seized by the Canadian authorities during the Patriot war, but did not remain long in their possession.
