MARINE NEWS.
Schr. THOS. KINGSFORD. - This vessel, commanded by Capt. John Palmer, and owned by Doolittle, Irwin & Wright, has just accomplished a season's business which is worth recording. The KINGSFORD sailed from this port on the 8th of April, and hauled off on the 18th of November, having made seven trips to Chicago and back. During this time she brought down 117,400 bushels of grain, and carried up 17,800 bushels of salt.
On two of her trips she was detained at Chicago ten days each, and at one time twelve days, waiting for cargoes, and even not taking this detention into consideration the Kingsford has made one more trip than any other vessel sailing to or from this port. "Bully" for the THOS. KINGSFORD and her energetic commander.
Quickest Trip on Record. - The schooner J.H. HARMON, Capt. C. Whitney, arrived at his port Thursday morning last from Milwaukee, within six days and fifteen hours, with a cargo of wheat for T.S. Mott. This is the quickest trip ever made to this port by sail vessel, and in fact is a little ahead of propeller time. "Bully" for the J.H. HARMON.
