THE TWO GLOBES. - There arrived here on Sunday the Globe, now a barge but formerly the brig of that name, and at one time was acknowledged the fleetest vessel on the lakes. Captain William Dickson, an early lake navigator, though now deceased, ordered her built at Buffalo, and to be unsurpassed as regards model and speed. The work was faithfully carried out and the vessel continued in constant service for twenty-eight years, and is yet in a comparative sound condition. The barge GLOBE, Jr., is also engaged in the lumber trade, and,
formerly a propeller, has been in service twenty-seven years, and performs her trips regularly throughout the season. There is a wide estrangement in the model of these vessels and those of the present period.
