On Tuesday last a new steamboat, built for the Hon. John Hamilton, was launched in gallant style from the works of the Niagara Harbour and Dock Company, amid the loud hurrahs of a large assemblage of spectators. She was christened the NIAGARA, is intended to run between Toronto and Oswego, touching at Cobourg and Port Hope, and will be commanded by Captain Sutherland, late of the TRAVELLER. The NIAGARA will be propelled by one engine of about eighty horse power; she is 140 feet in length, 24 feet beam, 50 feet overall, and is to be ready for business by the first of next June. -- Niagara Chronicle.
