R.B. Wilcox, city harbor engineer of Chicago, has ordered the removal of dismantled hulks of old wooden vessels from the channel of the Chicago River where they have been left to decay. The North Branch of the river has been for years a dumping ground for abandoned boats, and an order to proceed with channel widening operations, it has been found necessary to institute suits agains their owners. Among the vessels affected are the NEW ERA, the FIRE ROOFER, HAZEL D. and RADICAL
