Propeller ONTONAGON, broke her arches, jetted about 700 barrels of flour and put into Milwaukee.

THE GALE - DISASTER TO THE ONTONAGON. - Quite a severe gale sprung up on Friday night continuing most of the day Saturday, and making a very heavy sea on the lake.
The propeller ONTONAGON, which left Chicago on Friday evening for Sarnia, arrived here at 9 o'clock Saturday night in a leaking condition. She worked hard in the sea, having a heavy load on board, commenced leaking. She put back for this port, and when about 40 miles north of here, was obliged to throw a thousand barrels of flour overboard to avoid foundering, as the water was gaining on her pumps, and was only a few inches from her furnaces. - Milwaukee Sentinel.
