The Oswego Journal, says the report that the barque AMERICA was ashore at Nicholson's Island, turns out to be incorrect. She is ashore 12 miles below Genesee, in the town of Webster. Her crew landed safely, and also landed a number of horses, which were on board. Aid has been sent to the vessel, which went ashore light in the sand, and it is believed that she will be got off without material damage.

OFF SHORE.---The large bark AMERICA, which went ashore in Webster last fall in a
gale, was taken off yesterday by a steam tug, and brought into the mouth of Genesee
River. The AMERICA was light when she was beached, and has sustained but slight
damage. We suppose she will remain in the river until spring.

The barque AMERICA, which went ashore near Genesee River last fall, and lay there
till January, is now on Baker's Dry Dock, Oswego, undergoing repairs. She has shown
herself to be a staunch, well built vessel, having escaped with comparatively little injury.
