DISMASTED. - The schooner M. BALLARD, owned in this city by Capt. Coyne, arrived down yesterday in a dismasted condition. She was bound for Chicago with a cargo of coal, and on reaching Saginaw Bay was overtaken by a heavy squall, which carried away both spars, taking with them sails and rigging, all of which were lost, with the exception of her light sails. The steamer TRAVELLER happened along shortly after the disaster, took her in tow, bring her as far as the St. Clair River, from which point she was towed to this city by the tug REINDEER, arriving here yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock. - Detroit Free Press.
