RACINE Propeller and Propeller POCAHONTAS in collision near Grand River, Canada. Loss slight.

About 12 o'clock on Sunday night last, as the Propeller POCAHONTAS was coming down the lake, about 30 miles above the mouth of the Welland Canal, she was run into ny the Propeller RACINE, and received some considerable injury to her upper works. How much the RACINE was injured by the collision is not known. It seems very strange indeed that such accidents should occur, when, as in this case, both vessels had their lights out, unless there was some criminal carelessness somewhere - Buffalo Express.
