ACTIVE Schooner, cargo shingles, capsized off Port Washington, L. M. Property loss $2,500

The schooner ACTIVE, Capt. A. Rogers, bound from Manitowoc to Chicago, with a load of shingles, was struck by the squall off Port Washington about midnight, and instantly capsized. The captain and his two men clung to the wreck until 6 o'clock yesterday morning, when they were taken off by a boat from the schooner THORNTON, Capt. White, of Oswego, bound here with railroad iron. The sea was running very high at the time, and the rescue of Capt. Rogers and his men was not effected without considerable peril. The ACTIVE was owned by Mr. Ealinger, of Manitowoc, and uninsured. -- Mil. Sentinel, 12th.
