THE NORTHERN TRANSPORTATION COMPANY. - The Kingston Whig remarks that should the Northern Transportation Company fail to to effect the proposed arrangement with its creditors, in order that it may proceed with business next season as usual, the last American steam line on Lake Ontario will have collapsed. The only American steam bottom, if we except the harbor tugs at Oswego, that actually touches the waters of Ontario, is the little steamer Midge, of Clayton, which occasionally visits Kingston with parties of Americans. The lake, at the same time, is teeming with Canadian craft.
