NORFOLK Schooner, lost on Lake Ontario, two lives lost. Property loss $10,000

We learn that the schooner NORFOLK, a Canadian vessel, was lost on Lake Ontario on Friday last, and all of the crew, except one, perished. She had on a cargo of staves for Thomas Waters, not insured. The vessel was insured in the Provincial Insurance Company, for $4,000.

SCHOONER WRECKED.- We regret to learn that the new schooner NORFOLK of Port Dover, went ashore on a small island called the Scotch Bonnet, in a gale of Monday week, and became a total wreck. The Captain and all hands, four in number, were lost. The NORFOLK was loaded with staves, the property of Mr. Waters. -- Kingston News

LAKE ONTARIO.---The schooner NORFOLK is ashore at the Scotch Bonnet, twelve miles from Wellington. Vessel and cargo lost. The Captain was killed by a blow upon the head from the fore-boom; and one of the men strangled by a noose of the down-haul, which got around his neck.-----Rochester Adv.
