MARINE DISASTERS. - The Milwaukee Sentinel says:- We regret to learn that
the steamer ARCTIC, bound for Detroit, via the Sault Ste. Marie, went ashore at
the Beaver Islands during the heavy gale on Friday. She had on a large cargo of
provisions from Chicago, mostly destined for lake Superior. We have not heard
the particulars of the disaster, or the extent of the damage, further than that the
ARCTIC was run ashore to keep her from sinking; the sea having nearly exhausted
her fires. The E.K. COLLINS started from Sheboygan, early yesterday morning, to
the ARCTIC's relief. The propeller FOREST CITY also got ashore at Sheboygan,
during the same gale, but got off again without injury.

The steamer ARCTIC arrived at Detroit on Friday last. The Advertiser, of
that city, says she does not look much the worse for her contact with the rocks
near Beaver Island.
