The steamer NORTHERN INDIANA met with quite a serious accident on her down trip, by the breaking of her working-beam. The accident occurred off Dunkirk. By the breaking of the beam, the connecting rod was cast loose, and made sad havoc with the wood work within its reach. She was towed into port Sunday evening, and has gone into
dry dock for repairs. The injury she has sustained will take several weeks to repair.
