Brig C.P. WILLIAMS and Steamer WESTERN METROPOLIS, collided in Buffalo Harbor. Property loss $500.

ACCIDENT TO THE WESTERN METROPOLIS. - The steamer WESTERN METROPOLIS while entering the harbor this morning, got afoul of the schooner
C.P. WILLIAMS, and stove in her larboard wheel house, doing considerable damage to
her pantry and several state rooms. It appears that the schooner was drawing 11 feet
feet 2 inches of water which is too much for any vessel on these lakes, and in entering
the harbor grounded and scraped along until opposite the Michigan Central Dock, where
she hung fast by the stern, her bow sticking out across the channel. The WESTERN
METROPOLIS in endeavoring to enter got foul of the schooner's bowsprit and sustained
the damages above stated.
