Steamer ILLINOIS, and Schooner RESOLUTION collided in River St. Clair. Property loss $1,000.

COLLISION. - The steamer ILLINOIS, which left this port for Lake Superior on
Tuesday, while going up St. Clair River, on Tuesday evening, about 10 o'clock, and
when opposite Clark's Dock, this side of Port Huron, collided with the schooner
RESOLUTION, of the Lake Navigation Company, bound for Buffalo. The schooner
struck the steamer on the larboard bow, just forward of the pilot house. smashing in
her guards and upper decks, and considerably damaging her cabin and pilot-house.
The vessel cut clear into the steamer's hull, but did not start her planks. The
schooner had her bowsprit, jib-boom, and all her head gear carried away, and her
cut-water taken off, but did not leak. She passed down yesterday, and continued
on her way to Buffalo. Her damage was estimated at $500. The steamer was
temporarily repaired at Port Huron, and also proceeded. Her damage will reach
about $2,000. - Detroit Advertiser, 21.
