SEVENTY SIX Scow, waterlogged on Lake Michigan, picked up by Tug SALVOR and towed to Chicago. Property loss $1,000

SCHOONER SUNK -- CREW SAVED. -- We learn that the schooner SEVENTY SIX, Capt. Reynolds, owned by Mr. Stockbridge, of Kalamazoo, while on her passage from that port to this, about 40 miles distant, sprang a leak, and was in a few minutes after so unmanageable, that she was deserted by Captain and crew. Almost as soon as they got into the boat, the HILLSDALE picked them up, and they were brought here. The vessel was consigned to Officer & Brother with a load of lumber. Vessels going on the straight course from Chicago to Kalamazoo should look out for the wreck. The propeller SALVOR goes out this morning to try and find her. -- Chicago Press, 23.
